It’s here, summer! Out East comes the sun, the warm breeze, the salt that carries along. And with summer the bay sand and first foggy squints, beachy sundowns. To all of our Look Left friends comes a second page from our library of spirits!
Low-Key // Tropical
At Matchbook, as we tinker and distill often we follow a course charted by seasons and whimsy. Wondrous and wandering. When threading Look Left Labs, however, we like to use a map—pairing companion spirits that reflect our explorations while making sense in duos. Tropical, a coconut botanical spirit, light and subtle, soft and saline. Low-Key, distilled with local fall lemongrass, bright and zesty.
A subtle sipper to get you started, and a strong gust to keep you moving.
In kind, mixing with these two begs attention to both the quiet and the bold. For Low-Key, it turns out there is an old favorite to pair with lemongrass notes—green apple, mint and ginger. The apple tartness and ginger spice can just keep up with a lightspeed flash finish.
For Tropical, a fine touch. A seasonal effervescent with island notes and local strawberry.
As always, feel free to have these pearls by themselves, but if you prefer to mix. Give these a try!
